What is Entrepreneurial Spirit？
Harvard Professor Stephen Shalman said “Entrepreneurs take calculated risk to pursue an opportunity without regard to resources at hand. Entrepreneurs shall own and need to properly manage their resources to create values in products, environments, systems, and services. Entrepreneurs can be defined as those individuals who use technology, management, cultural or social knowledge and resources to solve problems creatively in the pursuit of business opportunities.
Entrepreneurial spirit is the drive to be resourceful, perseverant, innovative, and courageous. Entrepreneurial spirit and innovation are the two sides of the same coin. Entrepreneurial spirit is the drive and innovation is the means. They are the pair of wings that will fly us to the future, overcoming obstacles along the way. Innovation requires constant creativity which entails originality and novelty, resulting in endless pressure with tremendous challenges. Obviously, the systematic and continuous innovation required for business growth makes the undertaking even harder. Nevertheless, an entrepreneur must exercise one's enterprising qualities to pursue the venture dream and seize the business opportunities in this ever changing world. Only with such endeavour can an entrepreneur utilizes our planet's limited resources to bring happiness to us all.
